20 crore investment fraud in Thrissur; Film star confidant Swati Rahim arrested in fraud case

Kochi: Swati Rahim, a native of Thrissur, who is known as a confidant of film stars, has been arrested in a money fraud case. Swati Rahim is the owner of Save Box, an online auction house. The case against him is that he cheated by accepting deposits from many people saying that he would give the franchise of Save Box. Thrissur East Police CI Lal and his team caught the accused. The police have received information that he has committed fraud under the guise of caravan tourism of the state government.

He scammed the investors by promising attractive monthly returns. But when the investors did not get any profit, the complaint came forward. In the past three years, there were many complaints in the name of Swati Rahim in various police stations. Thrissur East station alone has three cases. Swati Rahim also tried to settle many of these cases through mediation.

He initially started the program by auctioning cheap electronic products online and selling them through an app. This initiative failed in 2020 during covid. He started the app by announcing it as the first bidding app in Kerala. A lot of money was spent on advertising. Actor Jayasuriya was the main brand ambassador. It is also said that Swati Rahim owes two crore rupees to Jayasurya. He won the trust of investors even by shadowing celebrities like Manju Warrier and Bobby Chemmannur.

He organized the launch of Save Box in Thrissur with the participation of many film stars. He was able to attract investors through this program. It was later found that the iPhones given as gifts to movie stars who attended the launch of Save Box were fake.
