A postcard from the Tokyo Peace Exhibition held in Japan during the Japanese colonial period in 1922 was released for the first time.

The Peace Exhibition was held at Ueda Park in Tokyo, Japan from March 10 to July 31, 1922. At the time, after the March 1st Movement, Japan advocated cultural politics and encouraged Koreans to attend the Peace Expo in order to placate them. The Japanese Empire operated the Peace Expo Joseon Sponsorship Association, with pro-Japanese activists such as Lee Wan-yong, Song Byeong-jun, and Park Young-hyo as advisors, and 222 organizations and 5,187 people attended the exhibition.

Gyu-moo Han, a professor at the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management at Gwangju University, said, “At the time, the Japanese used Korean women and Korean gisaeng who performed as part of the peace fair.”
Mr. Shim said, “During his lifetime, Professor Baek Kang created the Shinhanjeonguisa, which collected and studied pro-Japanese materials after liberation, and received complaints from gisaeng at the time that ‘after being forced to participate in the peace fair, they were sexually harassed during performances or forced to entertain Japanese high-ranking officials. “I confirmed the testimony,” he emphasized.
