The vast and magnificent Georgia is an adventurous land where the scenery changes with every step you take. The first destination of this journey to the warm and remote Georgia is Truso Valley!. Truso Valley, which we arrived at after a sudden rain and a bumpy dirt road, is as colorful as a palette created by nature. It is full of unique terrains that you can see in the Caucasus, from the bubbling blue carbonated lake, Abano Mineral Lake, to the red streams of Ketrisi travertines. The last place that the general public can access is a magnificent tower, Koshki, which can only be seen in the mountainous regions of Georgia. This tower is said to contain the wisdom of the Georgians who have overcome numerous wars…
To see the daily life of the Caucasus wilderness, we head to Roshka, a mountain village beloved as the destination of the Juta trek. We arrive at Roshka, a mountain village that we pass through after passing through mountain roads where numerous livestock stop and go repeatedly and through bumpy dirt roads! We taste the self-sufficient rural life with Shota, who lives to protect his hometown, and visit a secret place that Shota guides us to at sunset. After the spring rain, we return to our childhood and run freely through the green grassland on the beautiful hills that spread out like green silk.
In Georgia, where most of the population is Georgian Orthodox, there are various churches and monasteries. Among them, we head to Chiatura to find a monastery famous for its mystery. The 40m high Katskhi Pillar, which was considered a sacred place even before Christianity was spread! It is said that the monastery built on top of this pillar in a time when there were no ladders is still not known exactly who built it and how. After being hidden for over a thousand years, it is revealed to the world as a miracle of God, and we get a glimpse of the earnest desire of humans to reach God at the Katskhi Pillar Monastery.
