It’s mid-July, when the real heat begins. Every year, the record-breaking heat wave breaks out, making it increasingly difficult to survive the summer…

The hotter it gets, the more we crave for it! Cold things that can paralyze our five senses! We’ve gathered all the cold things together, regardless of food or location! Let’s go together to find a true getaway that will make you shiver just by looking at it.

This week (July 15-19) EBS 1TV current affairs and cultural programs <한국기행>The five-part series ‘I Like It Cold’ will air.

Summer melon is better than any medicine during the hottest days of summer! Melon is a representative summer fruit, with over 90% of its flesh made up of water and its cold nature making it excellent for cooling down.

The place we arrived in search of fresh melons. Seongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, the home of melons, which accounts for 70% of the country’s melon production. The melon greenhouse fields are one of the 10 must-see sights in Seongju, and the endless expanse of greenhouses like the sea is a spectacular sight.

The farming couple I met there were very proud of their organic melon field, and they said that the melons from Seongju were the tastiest.

Kim Ihwa, who created special recipes using their organic melons, including pickled vegetables, cubed radish kimchi, and smoothies.

Her restaurant was selected as the only “farm restaurant” in Seongju, and they say there are dishes that can only be tasted there?! People keep coming all the way to the middle of Gayasan Mountain to taste it.

Another thing that Kim Ee-hwa is proud of! It is her youngest daughter-in-law, Serena, who came from Italy. She says she is not jealous of her Korean daughter-in-law and that her love for her daughter-in-law is extraordinary. Thanks to her, foreign tourists have been visiting the restaurant more often.

Let’s hear the stories of the special relationships that lead to melons and the people who work with melons.

EBS’s ‘Korea Travelogue’ is a beautiful time travel documentary program that travels through space to find hidden scenic spots in Korea and conveys the fragrance of history, customs, architecture, and culture. It airs every Monday to Friday at 9:30 PM.
