If you go to the site of the old Crown Hotel in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, you can admire the unique building shaped like a undulating cloud. The pure white building stands out even more against the blue sky. The ‘H Han River’ promotional center that Hyundai Engineering & Construction set up last month to win the order for Hannam District 4 aroused curiosity even from outside the building.
Hannam District 4 Association is pursuing a business plan to build 51 buildings and 2,331 apartments with 4 underground floors and 23 above-ground floors in 360 Bogwang-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The final construction company will be decided at the general meeting of the union on the 18th.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction designed the exterior of the promotional center by emphasizing curves and openness, reflecting the design philosophy of Zaha Hadid, the first woman to win the Pritzker Prize. Hyundai Engineering & Construction entrusted the design of Hannam District 4 to Zaha Hadid Architects, of which he is the head.
He is an architect who designed Dongdaemun DDP and the 520 West 28 Street Building in New York, USA. Zaha Hadid’s residence in Manhattan, New York, USA is known to be worth $20.2 million (approximately KRW 29.7 billion) as of 2020.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced that it will use as many as 88,000 aluminum panels as exterior finishing materials to implement the curved design of The H Han River designed by Zaha Hadid. Through this, the strategy is to break away from the angular shape and present apartments with architectural art.
Hannam District 4 is a terrain where you can enjoy both the Han River and Namsan Mountain, so it is important to specialize in an exterior that blends in with the surrounding nature. Hyundai Engineering & Construction proposed six types of terraces to ensure that all union members have views of the Han River, Namsan, and Yongsan Park.
When you enter the promotional hall, you can see the model that implemented this. Key design elements such as major finishing materials were also revealed. In the promotional hall, a community ceiling height of 8m and a household ceiling height of 2.7m were actually implemented to provide a maximized sense of openness. By actually installing faucets and magic glasses, union members can experience the residential environment they would experience in real life.
In particular, various experiential content at the level of a model house helped visitors understand. It contains the will for communication beyond a simple exhibition form. In the entrance lobby, a video that harmoniously captures the complex’s video and the vision of ‘The H Han River’ is shown on a large LED screen.
In addition, the ‘Zaha Hadid Zone’ was created to introduce major architectural works designed by Zaha Hadid, introducing the world-renowned architect’s philosophy and design. Individual consultation with Hyundai Engineering & Construction employees is also possible on site.
You can also experience the ‘Sky Bridge’ at the H Han River Promotion Center. Hyundai Engineering & Construction plans to build a 300m Sky Bridge, the longest along the Han River, to provide not only a view of the Han River but also a special space where people can relax and communicate.
The ‘H Han River’ promotional center will be open until the 14th. Operating hours are from 10 am to 8 pm every day. You can visit both weekdays and weekends.
Business information sessions for union members are held four times a day (10 a.m., 1 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 6 p.m.) with advance reservation required.
Meanwhile, the main conditions presented by Hyundai Engineering & Construction for Hannam District 4 are ▲Total construction cost of KRW 1.4885 trillion ▲Procurement cost CD (Certificate of Deposit) + 0.1% interest rate ▲Total construction period of 49 months (main construction period of 43 months) ▲Apartment ·In case of unsold commercial properties, 100% repayment in kind, etc.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction also submitted five major commitments. The letter of commitment specified ▲completion responsibility, ▲loan interest rate for the project cost, ▲acquisition of apartments and commercial properties, ▲sealing of the construction contract, and ▲responsibility and cost burden for alternative design approval.
