Olympic champion Nikos Kaklamanakis sends his own message to Greek athletes who will compete in the Olympic Games in Paris.

In a post on social media, Nikos Kaklamanakis wishes good luck to the Greek delegation, while also mentioning some of the moments he cherishes from his own journey.

He makes a special mention of the flag bearers of the Greek delegation, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Antigoni Drisbilioti, saying that the flag is the greatest honor and responsibility.

The full post of Nikos Kaklamanakis:

“The Olympic medals that ‘belong’ to me are the reward for my struggle from ‘trauma’ to ‘miracle’.

However, human medals are superior to me. Among these, the moments I shared my joy with all Greeks stand out, such as our reception as Olympic champions at the Kallimarmaro on August 6, 1996, my selection as flag bearer at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, and the lighting of the Olympic flame in Athens in 2004.

These human medals belong to no one, and we have a duty to return them back to our society.

It is the greatest honor and responsibility our flag, Antigoni and Giannis!

Good luck to all our athletes!”
