Rawat Pulls Off Stunning Upset

In a remarkable display of resilience, 32-year-old Siddharth Rawat, currently ranked 715th in the world, overcame a first-set deficit to defeat fifth-seeded Ryo Noguchi, ranked 246th. Rawat lost the opening set 2-6 but battled back to secure a 6-3, 6-2 victory in the subsequent sets.

“Today’s match was full of ups and downs,” Rawat shared after the win. “I started a little slow in the first set, then collected myself after a short break and made a strong comeback in the second set.”

Nagal and Mukund Advance to Next Round

India’s number one player, Sumit Nagal, a former champion, also secured his place in the next round, defeating Britain’s Felix Gill 1-6, 6-1, 6-3. Nagal recently contributed to India’s Davis Cup triumph against the Netherlands in Bangalore. Despite a slow start, Nagal demonstrated his championship pedigree to overcome his opponent.
