IPL New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne, who was part of the Chennai Super Kings squad for the cricket tournament, has been ruled out of the first league match against the Kolkata Knight Riders due to a hamstring injury. He also withdrew from the rest of the tournament due to injury.
Adam Milne has been replaced by 19-year-old Sri Lankan fast bowler Madisha Badhirana in the Chennai Super Kings squad. He has been contracted for a base price of Rs 20 lakh.
Madisha Badhirana was part of the Sri Lankan squad for the 2020 and this year’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Pathirana, who can bowl in the style of former fast bowler Malinga, took 7 wickets in 4 matches in this year’s Junior World Cup Cricket. Pathirana is the 2nd Sri Lankan to feature in the Chennai squad this season. Deekshana is already playing for the Chennai team.
