Taean is big (泰), and An (安) is comfortable. Taean is located in the northwestern part of Chungcheongnam-do. Taean is a comfortable place and a good place to live, just like its name. And it is a land with a beautiful and long coastline of over 500km.

Anmyeondo’s Kkotji Beach is the number one destination for a beautiful sunset and a seaside trip, and from the unique desert landscape of the Sinduri Coastal Sand Dunes to arboretums filled with gorgeous summer flowers like hydrangeas and lotuses – a place with diverse natural scenery that feels new the more you get to know it.

The sea is bustling with seasonal seafood and surfers enjoying surfing, and farmers who have finished harvesting before the rainy season are enjoying their summer vacation. The summer of Taean people is expected to be filled with romance this year as well!

There is an exhibition hall where you can see relics from the Goryeo Dynasty excavated from the sea off Taean, and a memorial hall for overcoming oil spill damage that shows painful memories and hope… In Taean, you can experience various cultures that are hard to find in other regions.

A Garlic Farmer’s Special Summer Vacation

Even in the hot summer weather, farmers in Taean are busy harvesting crops that they have grown like their own children. Kim Nan-ju is a farmer who grows six-clove garlic with her family. Six-clove garlic is a specialty of Taean that grows in a maritime climate and has large garlic bulbs and a uniquely spicy flavor.

Nanju, who is also active as a poet, said that after marrying her husband who wants to protect her hometown, she started growing garlic together in Taean. Nanju, who finished her busy work before the rainy season and went on a rare outing with her family, visited the Nammyeon arboretum where you can see various lotus flowers. They had a happy time sharing memories related to the Dorandoran arboretum. In addition, they met an acquaintance they hadn’t seen for a while and recharged their hearts by walking along the Taean beach.

Mr. Byeong-guk is completely captivated by Taean’s beautiful scenery and is sharing its charms through SNS. The famous spot he wants to introduce is the Shinduri coastal sand dunes. The Shinduri coastal sand dunes, which were formed 15,000 years ago after the Ice Age, are a mysterious landscape reminiscent of a desert, capturing attention.

Sweet and Sour Blueberries from a Farming Couple

With a dream, he started his second life in Taean. He has been growing blueberries for over 10 years, and as a blueberry farmer, he has a special way of eating. Kongguksu with sweet and sour blueberries on top and Baekseolgi with blueberry jam. The couple is enjoying their life in Taean while growing blueberries.
