On Saturday, July 20th at 11:25 AM, the episode ‘Sharing 0700’, waiting for the day to be together, will be broadcast on EBS1TV.

“(Mr. Yongseop) was a patient who was treated for bone marrow failure. After receiving a bone marrow transplant and hematopoietic stem cell transplant, his lungs gradually deteriorated as a result of the transplant, and he became increasingly difficult to maintain. Later, he reached a state where it was very difficult to maintain without being put on a ventilator.”
– Seo Dong-in, pediatrician and adolescent medicine specialist

Yongseop, the first child, still needs rehabilitation treatment and dialysis after lung transplant surgery.

Yongseop (28 years old), who has been in the hospital for 8 years this year, has suffered from pneumonia, pleurisy, bone marrow abnormality, Crohn’s disease, heart disease, and lung transplant. He currently sleeps on a ventilator and has to receive hemodialysis three times a week. He has a very difficult time in his daily life due to severe pain and swollen feet. Recently, he has developed nerve problems in his legs and osteoporosis, requiring rehabilitation treatment, and he has to be very careful about moving his body as he continues to suffer from microfractures. Despite all these difficulties, Yongseop has not lost his will to live, is overcoming the difficult situation, and is preparing for recovery.

My second son, Jongseop, is suffering from pain from Crohn’s disease and relapsed thyroid cancer.

Jong-seop, Yong-seop’s younger brother who had part of his small intestine removed due to Crohn’s disease, has been battling immunodeficiency, Crohn’s disease, and recently a recurrence of thyroid cancer. He is awaiting treatment for a recurrence of thyroid cancer that he underwent surgery for seven years ago in March, and it is difficult to make a rash decision on bone marrow transplantation amidst several other serious overlapping diseases. Jong-seop, who has difficulty eating the rice porridge prepared by his father due to the pain, often has to go to the bathroom as soon as he puts down the spoon. Jong-seop, who has been battling the disease for 25 years, is hopeful for his future treatment plan and recovery.

A mother who has been caring for her son for 8 years and a father who works tirelessly to pay for hospital bills

“It hurts my heart to see that there’s nothing I can do for you. I wish Yongseop didn’t have to feel pain…”
-Ms. Baek Jeong-hwa, Mom

“It’s really unfortunate. I feel bad for Jongseop and I can’t do anything for him…”
-Mr. Kim Young-mok, father

Mom, Jeong-hwa, is taking care of her eldest son at a hospital in Seoul, and dad, Yeong-mok, is taking care of his second son at home in Ulsan. The image of mom carrying her 28-year-old son on her back and heading to the bathroom, and dad rubbing his 27-year-old son’s belly and giving him medicine is very sad and warm. Every morning, mom starts at the sink in the hospital room and spares no effort in caring for her son’s difficult day. Meanwhile, dad, Yeong-mok, works two shifts a day at an auto parts manufacturing plant and is responsible for his family’s livelihood. Although he is away from his wife, he meticulously takes care of the household and helps his son through his illness. Thinking about the two years left until retirement and the future after retirement, his heart is heavy, but dad, Yeong-mok, is devoted to his family. While waiting for the day when the families of Seoul and Ulsan will be together, mom and dad encourage each other today as well.

Please share your warm hearts with the family who dreams of a day when they can smile together again.

Even in poor health, mother Jeong-hwa is doing her best for her family. Father Yeong-mok is working tirelessly for his two seriously ill sons. And his two sons are fighting against illness. I hope you can share your warm hearts with this family that knows how to express special gratitude to each other and be thankful even in difficult situations.
