Yongseop, the first child, still needs rehabilitation treatment and dialysis after lung transplant surgery.
Yongseop (28 years old), who has been in the hospital for 8 years this year, has suffered from pneumonia, pleurisy, bone marrow abnormality, Crohn’s disease, heart disease, and lung transplant. He currently sleeps on a ventilator and has to receive hemodialysis three times a week. He has a very difficult time in his daily life due to severe pain and swollen feet. Recently, he has developed nerve problems in his legs and osteoporosis, requiring rehabilitation treatment, and he has to be very careful about moving his body as he continues to suffer from microfractures. Despite all these difficulties, Yongseop has not lost his will to live, is overcoming the difficult situation, and is preparing for recovery.
My second son, Jongseop, is suffering from pain from Crohn’s disease and relapsed thyroid cancer.
Jong-seop, Yong-seop’s younger brother who had part of his small intestine removed due to Crohn’s disease, has been battling immunodeficiency, Crohn’s disease, and recently a recurrence of thyroid cancer. He is awaiting treatment for a recurrence of thyroid cancer that he underwent surgery for seven years ago in March, and it is difficult to make a rash decision on bone marrow transplantation amidst several other serious overlapping diseases. Jong-seop, who has difficulty eating the rice porridge prepared by his father due to the pain, often has to go to the bathroom as soon as he puts down the spoon. Jong-seop, who has been battling the disease for 25 years, is hopeful for his future treatment plan and recovery.
