#Suyeong’s loincloth and grandma’s cart
Suyeong grew up in the arms of her father and grandmother after her parents divorced when she was five. Wanting to support her athletic grandson even in one way, the grandmother started pulling a cart after Suyeong got a saddle. She goes around the neighborhood collecting scrap metal cans and bottles. Even if she fills the cart with scrap metal cans in the hot sun, she only gets about ten thousand won. Nevertheless, she leaves the house with the sole intention of buying her athletic grandson meat at least once more. She tells her to rest several times, thinking she might collapse, but she still goes out without telling her family. She knows her family is worried, but her desire to protect her grandson is greater than that. She lost her husband early and raised four children on her own. She doesn’t have a single day to rest, wondering what will happen to her disabled son and young grandson after she leaves. She just wants to do her best for her son and grandson until the day she lives. She is always upset that she can’t feed her athletic grandson well and support him as much as others do. Suyeong wants to succeed in wrestling even more because she knows her grandmother’s heart and hardships. Suyeong and her grandmother do their best, each thinking of each other.
# Tomorrow is the best day of the year
When he was young, his father, Youngtae, suddenly lost his hearing and became hearing impaired. He can barely hear most sounds and can barely communicate by looking at his lips, but even then, it’s not easy to continue a conversation. However, his father’s heart is no less than that of a grandmother’s when it comes to his son. Working at a sink manufacturing plant, his father volunteers to work overtime on weekends in order to give Sooyoung more pocket money, and he also earns money by selling discarded scraps, even if it’s only a few thousand won. Even when he visits his son’s school during his lunch break to buy drinks, he walks without even looking at his son’s face properly for fear of disturbing him. Although he can’t express much, he always shouts, “Son, you’re the best, fighting!” Sooyoung can’t help but feel burdened because her family is all about her. However, because she has a family that is always there to support her, she can’t give up even if her skills aren’t up to par right away or if her training is tough. If she keeps working hard like she is now, won’t her dream of becoming a world-class businessman come true someday? Today, too, Suyeong holds on to her loincloth for her family and her dreams.
