Vilnius, Trakai, and Musteika villages where Lithuanian history unfolds
Jewels of the Baltic Sea, Klaipeda, Vilnius, Šiaulei
Austria’s shining scenery, Salzburg and Innsbruck
Scenery with music, Vienna, Wachau, St. Wolfgang
Salzburg, a city whose entire city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Start your Austrian journey in Salzburg’s Old Town, which is crowded with tourists. Known as the hometown of the genius musician Mozart, you can feel the love for Mozart in the scenery of Salzburg, which is filled with Mozart everywhere.
The umbrella store I found on Salzburg’s Getreidegasse, famous for its beautiful signboard, is unusual. While looking around at the colorful umbrellas, performance director Park Kalin suddenly runs out. That’s to meet the umbrella craftsman! We meet an umbrella craftsman who has been in the family business for three generations at an umbrella store that first opened in 1903. Another pride of Austria is its traditional clothing! I enter the store where a lady wearing a dress that reminds me of an Alpine girl welcomes me. What does Kalin Park look like wearing Dirndl, the traditional clothing of Alpine women?
Salzburg is the filming location of the movie ‘The Sound of Music’, which was released in 1965 and was loved by people all over the world! At Mirabell Palace, which was the background for the Do-Re-Mi song scene, you meet residents dressed as Dirndl and have a pleasant time. The place we arrived at was the Hohensalzburg Fortress, which offers a panoramic view of Salzburg. Listen to the music from ‘The Sound of Music’ sung by Kalin Park in the beautiful architecture of Salzburg.
Leave Salzburg and head to Innsbruck to experience the essence of Alpine scenery. Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol and a mountain city in the beautiful Alps! The cable car takes you straight up to Hafelekarspitze, the peak of the Austrian Alps. The vivid Alpine experience does not end here. We are invited by Lucas, whom we met through Alpine climbing, and head to his family’s bed and breakfast. Kalin Park is having a great time eating venison cooked by her younger brother, who is a chef. The next day after spending time with the warm family in Innsbruck, Lucas and I end our journey by spending leisurely time lying on the shore of an Alpine lake.
