A trip with ‘Rali’, a Georgian bride who was born in Georgia and came to Korea to get married! Really, really! Let’s go meet Georgia.
The jewel of the Caucasus Mountains, Georgia! The blue Black Sea, majestic mountains, dizzying cliffs, canyons, and caves filled with legends, there are unforgettable landscapes wherever you go. Juta trekking is a recent trend among travelers! Walk towards the great nature of Chaukhi Mountain and fall in love with the charm of Georgia.
Before starting the full-scale trekking, fill up your stomach with a bowl of Khashi in the capital city of Tbilisi. Khashi, which looks like a Korean bone soup, is loved as a hangover cure in Georgia. If you pass through Jvari Pass along the Caucasus Mountains, you will find a hot place for locals! It is a mineral spring with mineral water, just like the springs on Korean hiking trails. Water flowing out between orange limestone formed by carbonate minerals precipitating! Take a break and drink the mineral water, which is known to be good for your health.
On the way to Juta, we will stop by the Gergeti Trinity Church in Stepantsminda, the ‘Holy Land of Georgia’. The Gergeti Trinity Church, which offers a panoramic view of Mount Kazbek, is also famous for its beautiful scenery that you will never forget once you see it. We leave the magnificent nature behind and take a steady step.
The trekking starts from the village of Juta, located at 2,200m above sea level. At first glance, it looks like an impregnable and rugged terrain, but it is loved as a course that even beginners can enjoy easily. Even on sunny days, you should not let your guard down! The weather in the mountainous area changes every hour, so you can experience snow even in early summer. You will find yourself humming as you enjoy the four seasons of Georgia. However, the road is blocked by a rockfall and you cannot go any further. Where will this trekking end?
Giant rocks on the field that we came across while moving! Upon closer inspection, they are not ordinary rocks, but giant sculptures. This is the masterpiece of a lifetime created by Mr. Merap of the village of Sno, and he continues to carve historical figures to remember the history of Georgia. We learn about the artistic view that respects nature from the veteran artist who says that his work is ‘work that is a result of snow, rain, and wind.’
