On the way to Nan in the northern mountainous region. While driving along the Floating Road, which has an endless S-shaped curve, take a photo of your life on ‘Road No. 3’, which has become a photo spot because it resembles the number 3.

After driving through the rugged mountain roads, we arrived at Bo Kluea village, which has a salt well with an 800-year history. We can see the process of making natural salt using traditional methods by drawing brine from the salt well that still never dries. In the past, as the salt industry developed, people flocked and many people became wealthy. Hong Chao Fong Kham is the home of a high-ranking official who ruled this area. We can imagine the life of that time by listening to traditional instruments and singing and meeting an old woman weaving cloth.

The most famous place in Nan is Wat Phumin. There, you can admire unique Buddha statues facing the four directions, as well as murals depicting scenes from the past, such as a couple in love. Then, to fill your stomach, you can walk along Khuang Muang Walking Street. The street food at cheap prices is delicious, but the chance encounters with college students who speak Korean well are even more enjoyable in Nan.

The next day, we meet the Lua people in the highlands. They are an ethnic minority from Laos, and it is impressive to see them farming while communicating with walkie-talkies. We get a glimpse into their primitive lifestyle, such as filling their tables with rats and frogs, as they have not yet harvested anything and have nothing to eat, which would be like the barley pass in our terms.

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is back. At Wat Pariwat Ratchasongkram, a temple full of unique sculptures, we look for unique statues of Superman, comic book characters, and soccer player David Beckham. The best fun of traveling in Bangkok is a culinary tour! We visit an 85-year-old traditional Pad Thai restaurant on Khaosan Road and taste authentic Pad Thai, and at a dessert shop famous for being Blackpink Lisa’s favorite restaurant, we taste authentic Thai desserts with unique visuals, Bua Loy and Chao Kuai.

A curator who has lived in Bangkok for 19 years and is married to a Thai woman tells you everything you need to know about traveling in Thailand! Discover the other charms of traveling in Thailand, the beginning and end of overseas travel.
