Victoria Falls, the most powerful sounding place on the African continent! First head to Zimbabwe to see Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Victoria Falls, which seems to roar with the spray rising from afar and the powerful sound of the waterfall, reveals the majesty of one of the world’s three largest waterfalls.
Activities are essential to enjoy Victoria Falls in a variety of ways! First, take a ride on Microlight, an ultralight aircraft that offers the closest view of Victoria Falls from the sky. Victoria Falls seen from the sky is majestic nature itself! Next, head to Devil’s Pool, which can be enjoyed at the end of Victoria Falls. Let’s take a commemorative photo at Victoria Falls, the best photo spot created by the dizzying height of the waterfall and strong current.
After being immersed in the great outdoors of Africa, we continue our journey in Zambia to enter the lives of the local people. Mukuni Village near Victoria Falls is a place where indigenous people still live. Spend happy time with warm and friendly residents.
I returned to Zimbabwe the next day. Take an exhilarating morning walk with the white lion, the king of the African grasslands, and enjoy a cup of coffee overlooking the Zambezi River. The sound of the strong water flowing through the steep canyon makes me want to jump into the river right away! So, I head to rafting to enjoy the Zambezi River with my whole body. The Zambezi River rapids course is divided into five levels of difficulty depending on the strength of the current. The name of the level 5 rapid, which is the course we chose, is ‘The Terrifying Stairway to Heaven.’ Try the thrill of white water rafting, where you will fall into the river in the blink of an eye!
There is another thing on the Zambezi River that is as famous as Victoria Falls. The Victoria Falls Bridge connects the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Here, you can try the 111m high bungee jump, which is said to be the ultimate activity. The journey, full of unforgettable memories, ends on a cruise on the Zambezi River with a beautiful sunset.

Interview with Travel Expert Lee Gwang-ju on the Allure of Africa’s Natural Wonders
Editor: Welcome, Lee Gwang-ju! Thank you for joining us today at Time.news. With your extensive experience traveling through 141 countries, particularly in Africa, we are excited to delve into your insights about this remarkable continent.
Lee Gwang-ju: Thank you for having me! It’s a pleasure to share my passion for Africa.
Editor: Let’s start with a highlight from your travels: Victoria Falls. You describe it as one of the world’s three largest waterfalls. What makes this location so special?
Lee Gwang-ju: Victoria Falls is extraordinary not just for its size, but for its raw power and beauty. The sound of the water crashing down is thunderous, and the mist that rises makes for a magical atmosphere. It’s a sensory experience like no other! It truly embodies the majesty of nature.
Editor: That sounds incredible! For someone visiting for the first time, what activities would you recommend to fully appreciate Victoria Falls?
Lee Gwang-ju: There are many fantastic ways to experience the Falls. One of the most exhilarating is taking a Microlight flight. This ultralight aircraft gives you a breathtaking aerial view that allows you to appreciate the grand scale of Victoria Falls. And for a unique thrill, a visit to Devil’s Pool is essential. It’s a natural infinity pool located right on the edge of the falls, offering an unforgettable experience—but only if you’re adventurous!
Editor: Wow, that sounds exhilarating! Beyond Victoria Falls, you mention other regions like Namibia and South Africa. How do these places complement the African travel experience?
Lee Gwang-ju: Each region has its distinct charm. Namibia, with its surreal landscapes that almost feel cinematic, offers vast deserts and wildlife that will leave you in awe. Then you have South Africa, rich in culture and natural beauty, from the iconic Table Mountain to stunning coastlines. Together, these locations represent the incredible diversity of Africa’s offerings.
Editor: With your extensive travels, what do you find is the biggest misconception people have about traveling to Africa?
Lee Gwang-ju: A common misconception is that Africa is one homogeneous experience. In reality, the continent is incredibly diverse, with each country showcasing unique cultures, landscapes, and histories. People often overlook the importance of understanding and respecting local customs, which enriches the travel experience substantially.
Editor: That’s an important point. For travelers looking to embrace these local cultures, what tips could you offer?
Lee Gwang-ju: I always encourage travelers to engage with local communities—be it through guided tours, workshops, or homestays. Learning a few phrases in the local language can go a long way too. It shows respect and often opens doors to richer interactions.
Editor: As we wrap up, what is your personal favorite memory from your time in Africa?
Lee Gwang-ju: Ah, that’s a tough one! One of my favorites has to be standing at the edge of Victoria Falls at sunset, the colors reflecting on the water. It was a moment of serenity amidst the thunderous roar—just a reminder of the beauty and power of our planet.
Editor: Thank you, Lee Gwang-ju, for sharing your insights and experiences. Your expert perspective certainly highlights the allure of Africa, and I’m sure it inspires many to embark on their own adventures.
Lee Gwang-ju: Thank you! I hope more people get to experience the magic of Africa firsthand. Happy travels!
