The remote Knuckles Range, a vast tropical mountain range
Wildlife paradise, Pinnawala and Yala National Park
Take the train to Ojiro, Colombo, Lambukhana, Ambewela, Labugolla, Ella

The pearl of the East where various cultures coexist. This trip will see the helpers who make Sri Lanka shine even brighter! Before that, the first place we visited was Kandy, a city that preserves the old appearance of Sri Lanka. We head to the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), a temple where the tooth of Buddha is enshrined. It is said that Buddhist believers from all over the world visit this place every year. Near the Temple of the Tooth Relic, we will also watch the Kandyan dance, a traditional Sri Lankan dance.

We set out to find those who are called Sri Lanka’s extreme occupations. We head to Labukele to meet the flower-selling youth who became famous on social media. As we enter the path we found after asking around, the youths start to appear. As we follow the winding road, the youths reappear as if they had teleported?! Even though they run uphill and down the winding road all day to sell flowers, the youths never stop smiling. Some may call it an extreme occupation, but these flower youths make even those who see them smile! We run together with the youths who sell happiness called flowers.

Next stop, Ratnapura, the city of gems. Sri Lanka is also famous for being the largest gem producing country in Asia. There is a joke that you can find small sapphire stones by digging up any river or rice paddy soil. On the way to meet the king of extreme occupations, the miners! In the middle of an ordinary rice paddy, there is a gem mine. They say that they work in the gem mine, which is more than 30m underground, with only their hands and iron skewers. The lives of the miners who work hard every day. We go into the mine with the miners and experience their lives. Through this valuable experience, we conclude our journey by thinking again about the value of gems.
