Let’s go to Sri Lanka, a beautiful island country in the Indian Ocean! The happiest remote place in the world!

Deeper, closer, to Sri Lanka!

Let’s go to Sri Lanka, where you can see the natural environment where the ocean and tropical mountains are in harmony, the history and culture of the Indian Ocean island nation, and everything from wild animals to extreme jobs in remote areas!

Extreme jobs in the wilderness! Kandy, Ratnapura, Nuwara Eliya

The remote Knuckles Range, a vast tropical mountain range

Wildlife paradise, Pinnawala and Yala National Park

Take the train to Ojiro, Colombo, Lambukhana, Ambewela, Labugolla, Ella

Sri Lanka, the land called the paradise of wild animals. We go to Pinnawala, a shelter for wild elephants. Pinnawala, a small town in central Sri Lanka, is famous for its facilities to protect wild elephants. At a certain time, the town merchants suddenly become busy. A huge herd of elephants begins to march toward the river! We also hear from Sri Lankans that elephants are more than just animals.

Next stop was Yala National Park. It is called Sri Lanka’s ‘animal kingdom’ because of its ecological environment that has not been touched by humans. That’s why it is a feast of wild animals wherever you look. Among them, the most popular animal among tourists is the leopard! It is said to have the highest density of leopards in the world, but it is common to return without seeing one. Did you meet the leopard, the strongest predator in Sri Lanka’s wild?

Fishing is in full swing at Muruthawela Reservoir. People are fishing with their bare bodies in the strong current, using nets. We also taste the spicy Sri Lankan curry made with the freshwater shrimp they catch. Curd, a popular snack in India and South Asia. In particular, buffalo curd with high fat content is famous in Sri Lanka. We go to the homes of local residents who raise buffalos and make curd in a traditional way. We join them in bathing the buffalo, milking them, and boiling them. We spend warm time with them as they live together without harming the environment.
