On Wednesday, August 7th at 12:20 AM, the episode ‘I’ll Give You My Arms’ will air on EBS1TV.

Actress Ko Doo-shim, who has been loved by the public as the ‘nation’s mother’ for a long time, has continued her ‘good influence’ as a ‘sharing ambassador’ for Green Umbrella. Her first relationship with Green Umbrella was in 1983. It started when she sponsored a child at the recommendation of actor Choi Bool-am (current Green Umbrella National Sponsorship Association Chairman), who was co-starring in the drama ‘Country Diaries’.

Later, when Green Umbrella suggested the position of ‘Public Relations Ambassador’ in 2006, she requested to change her title to ‘Sharing Ambassador’ because she wanted to participate deeply in sharing activities through the foundation rather than just showing her face at events. While working as an actress, she continued to engage in various activities as a sharing ambassador and realized the joy of sharing more deeply. She shared her thoughts on the 40 years with Green Umbrella and said, “(While watching sharing activities) I feel like we are growing together.”

She attended the ‘African Child Day’ event held in Rwanda on June 16, 2024, and returned after closely observing the child support site. This overseas volunteer work was her fifth visit to Africa since becoming a ‘Sharing Ambassador’ for Green Umbrella. In addition to children in Korea, she has been interested in the poverty of children around the world, and has visited Ethiopia, Uganda, Indonesia, Kenya, and Sierra Leone to comfort and embrace many people. In this interview, she said, “Through this volunteer work in Rwanda, I saw hope in the expressions of the Rwandan people,” and that she felt “even happier and more grateful” because she was able to witness the change. She added, “I wish there could be a world where people always smile. There may be days when I cry because I’m sad, but I hope there will be more days when people smile.”

National actress Ko Doo-shim, who has been spreading the ‘seeds of sharing’ with a consistent appearance for a long time, and her sincerity in hoping for a world where everyone can share and laugh together can be seen in the episode ‘I’ll Give You My Arms’ that will be aired on EBS 1TV at 12:20 AM on Wednesday the 7th.
