One day, he hears news of his brother’s disappearance and visits his brother’s apartment for the first time in decades, where he encounters a strange code engraved on every door and the family of Joo-hee (Moon Jung-hee), who knows his brother. “Please tell that person to stop spying on my daughter.” Joo-hee, who lives alone with her young daughter, is trembling with fear as she senses the presence of someone spying on her house. While carefully examining the code of the old apartment, Seong-su realizes that it refers to the gender and number of people living in the house. Someone else is living in my house besides me! On the day he returns to his comfortable home, leaving his brother’s apartment behind, Seong-su discovers the code he saw in his brother’s apartment engraved next to his doorbell. His missing brother. The code of hide and seek. A shocking truth comes to two different families. The breathtaking fight between the two heads of households to protect their families begins!
◆ commentary:
The film immediately captured the audience’s attention from its subject matter. The exciting story, based on the ‘hide-and-seek ghost story’ that we have all experienced or could easily happen around us, is gaining great sympathy from the audience. In this way, the film overwhelms the audience with a scenario that is so captivating that it makes them feel as if it is a real situation that happened to them.
On the other hand, it drew explosive enthusiasm from netizens. This kind of reaction seems to be because the representative luxury actors of Korea, Son Hyun-joo, Moon Jung-hee, and Jeon Mi-seon, showed fantastic acting chemistry on the screen for the first time. Director Heo Jeong said, “Senior Son Hyun-joo, who plays ‘Seong-su,’ has great acting skills, and she has a friendly image that people can easily empathize with, but also has a sensitive side. That’s why I thought she was the best casting who could appropriately show ‘Seong-su’s’ obsessive-compulsive disorder without emphasizing it too much.
