LA NATIONAL COORDINATION OF FULBHÈ AND HAALI PULAR OF GUINEA

CIRCUMSTANTIAL STATEMENT RELATING TO DEADLY VIOLENCE RECORDED DURING PEACEFUL CITIZEN PROTESTS CALLED BY THE FORCES VIVE

The Fulbhè Haali Pular Coordination is deeply shocked by the death of several citizens during the demonstrations of the Forces Vives de Guinée (FVG) on May 10 and 11, 2023.

The repression of the said demonstrations resulted in 7 deaths and several wounded by bullets, including a 6-month-old baby. If we add to this sad toll the victims of previous demonstrations, we find ourselves with 24 dead since the advent of the CNRD in power on September 5, 2021.

The Fulbhè and Haali Pular Coordination notes with pain and questioning that all these victims come from a single community, that of the Fulbhè and Haali Pular. What the nationals of this community deplore the most is that these recurrent crimes are not the subject of any investigation aimed at identifying and bringing to justice their perpetrators and sponsors.

If these crimes targeting children from the same community persist and continue to go unpunished, they risk having a lasting effect on peace, national unity and social cohesion in our country. This is why the Coordination of the Fulbhè and Haali Pular asks the authorities of our Country and in particular Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, to take all the measures to put an end to these targeted crimes and, for those already committed, to carry out serious investigations to identify the perpetrators and sponsors and bring them to justice.

This would also make it possible to prevent the victims from trying to obtain justice, but also to restore the authority and legitimacy of the State as well as confidence between all the components of our society. This is the only way to reassure the various ethnic and political components about the neutrality and impartiality of the State as well as of its judicial apparatus and its defense and security forces.

The Coordination presents its heartfelt condolences to those who have lost loved ones, sends its wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured, expresses its total solidarity with all these victims and invites all those of good will to provide them with their material and moral support.
