1.5 billion dollar lawsuit from Pfizer to Poland – Kıbrıs Newspaper

US pharmaceutical company Pfizer filed a $1.5 billion lawsuit against Poland on the grounds that it violated the contract regarding the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccines.

According to Politico, although Poland signed a 60 million dose Covid-19 vaccine purchase agreement with Pfizer, it did not receive the vaccines and did not pay.

For this reason, Pfizer demanded 1.5 billion dollars from Poland for violating the contract in question, as part of the lawsuit it filed in Brussels.

The first hearing of the case in question is expected to be heard on December 6.

Polish Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski announced on April 19 that the European Commission and Pfizer had been informed that no more Covid-19 vaccines would be purchased and no payment would be made.

Niedzielski said in his statement, “There are 67 to 70 million doses of vaccine in warehouses in Poland. What are we going to do with all this?” He used the following expressions:
