Namakkal: The number of eggs exported from Namakkal to Qatar has increased to 1.50 crore due to the ongoing World Football Tournament in Qatar.

4.50 crore eggs are produced daily in Namakkal zone and exported not only to Tamil Nadu but also to foreign countries.

Currently, the export of eggs from Namakkal to Qatar has tripled due to the World Cup in Qatar.

In this regard, Dr. Senthil, General Secretary of Livestock and Agricultural Farmers Trade Association said:

Qatar is one of the countries that export the most eggs from Namakkal district. While 50 lakh eggs were being exported to Qatar alone, 1.50 crore eggs are being exported due to the football tournament.

Countries like Turkey have raised the price of eggs due to the increase in the price of poultry feed and raw materials in the international market due to the war with Russia.

A box of 360 eggs in Turkey costs between 18 and 20 dollars. Last month it rose to 36 dollars.

Due to the decrease in the price of Namakkal eggs, countries like UAE, Qatar, Oman have started buying more eggs from Namakkal. This is what he said.
