1 lakh lantern lights lit in Buddhist temple

A Buddhist festival called ‘Maha Puja’ or ‘Maha Bucha’ is celebrated every year in various Asian countries including Thailand, Cambodia and Sri Lanka. Buddhists celebrate this day to commemorate the event when Lord Buddha met his 1,200 disciples.

During the Maha Puja, Buddhists practice activities such as visiting Buddhist temples, worshiping, meditating, listening to Buddha’s teachings, and giving alms. Maha Puja Day was celebrated yesterday this year.

In view of this, 1 lakh lantern lights were lit in the Buddhist temple in Pathum Thani, Thailand. Buddhist monks from various Asian countries visit this temple and light lanterns. The Buddha Temple glittered with one lakh lantern lights, mesmerizing the onlookers.
