10.76 lakhs was deposited in the account of a private individual out of the amount paid to the bank by the Beverages Corporation branch. The money went to the woman’s account at Kattakkada in Thiruvananthapuram. Realizing the problem, when the bank officials came to look for the money, the woman threw up saying that she had spent the entire amount. The bank authorities have filed a complaint with the Vatiyoorkav police.
The money of Beverages Corporation Nettayam Mukola outlet was transferred from the Nettayam public sector bank branch. The bank officials came to know about the loss of money on March 18. During the subsequent investigation, it was found that the account holder was the woman in the Kattakkada.
When the authorities approached the woman and asked for the money back, she could not get the money back as she had spent the entire amount. The bank officials then approached the police. The woman also told the police that she had spent the entire amount. The bank has not made an official response to the incident.
