Dorian Cohen chez Paris Beijing
It’s impossible not to let yourself be caught up in these seemingly happy banal scenes of daily life, which hide the tension of a family drama or something unsaid. There is a very special atmosphere in the paintings of Dorian Cohen, 36-year-old Frenchman, self-taught graduate in urban engineering and town planning, revealed in 2017 during the 62nd Salon de Montrouge. It “sold out” every time.
Barely hung, his next exhibition at the end of April, the second at the Paris Beijing gallery, is already pre-sold. At Art Paris, his large canvas from the series of natural stories (2022) went, from the first hour, to 22,000 euros like his small formats between 4,500 and 5,000 euros. His figurative painting fits perfectly with the taste of the moment.
