Mandsaur: The health sector is looking at all means to ensure that everyone in the country is vaccinated to prevent the Kovid epidemic. Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department is looking for a bizarre way to get vaccinated by those who are reluctant to get the vaccine. Mandsaur district in Madhya Pradesh has announced a discount on alcohol for those taking two doses of Kovid vaccine.
Authorities have announced a 10 percent discount on alcohol for those who take two doses of Kovid vaccine to persuade people to get vaccinated. This is the first time in the country that such an order has been issued by the Tourism Development Corporation in Mandsaur district. The BJP has come out in opposition to the project.
The announcement is part of the Kovid Prevention Campaign. According to the order of the Tourism Corporation, an agreement has been reached with the bar owners to give a 10 per cent discount on liquor to the holders of the certificates taken for both the vaccines.
BJP MLA Yashpal Sisodia said this was a move to promote alcohol and could not be accepted.
Mandsaur is one of the districts lagging far behind in the distribution of Kovid vaccine. Vaccination is not even 50 per cent complete in the district. Following this, new plans have been announced to promote the distribution of the vaccine.
