10 vehicles impounded for invading restricted lanes

An operation led by the Undersecretariat of Police Traffic Control capital in the streets of the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office This resulted in 10 vehicles being sent to the impound lot and 25 fines for invading restricted lanes.

According to the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), the deployment took place on the avenue Reforma Walk and Violeta Street, in the Guerrero neighborhood, to ensure optimal bus circulation.

The main objective of this operation was to prevent motorists and motorcyclists from invading the lane reserved for the Metrobus and the cycle path.

As a result, four vehicles were sent to a vehicle depot, 19 were applied violations and five warrants were received for using the restricted lane.

In addition, six motorcycles were taken to the impound lot and six violations were issued for not respecting the cycle path.

The SSC urged drivers not to invade cyclists’ lanes in order to avoid accidents e violations.

He stressed that these devices operate permanently and randomly in the 16 mayoralties to strengthen road safety for all road users.

He also invited citizens to make complaints regarding mobility through the SSC networks, Traffic Guidance Center and the Secretary’s Contact Unit.
