/ The Turkish Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday that more than ten members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) were killed and weapons caches were destroyed in airstrikes carried out in the Kurdistan Region, while two members of the party surrendered themselves to a border post with Iraq.

The Turkish Ministry published video footage documenting Turkish drones targeting Kurdistan Workers’ Party sites, killing more than ten militants and destroying their hideouts and weapons caches.

In the same context, the ministry stated in a statement reported by the Anadolu Agency that two members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party fled from a party camp in the Kurdistan Region and surrendered themselves to Turkish security at a border post in the Khabur region, north of Dohuk.

He pointed out that “the defection operations from the organization are continuing, thanks to the Turkish forces continuing their decisive military operations.”

It is noteworthy that the PKK has its stronghold in the Qandil Mountains, northern Iraq, and is active in many cities, regions and valleys, from which it launches attacks on the Turkish interior.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense targets the leaders of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party with air strikes, the latest of which was the operation carried out by Turkish intelligence in the city of Sulaymaniyah in Iraq, during which it killed the member of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, Hasan Sebouri, who was involved in “espionage against Turkey,” according to the Anadolu Agency.

The armed conflict with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Turkey began in 1984 and resumed in 2015. There are PKK concentrations in northern Iraq, where Turkish forces carry out air and ground operations against them.
