The Federal Integrity Commission announced, on Tuesday, a 10-year prison sentence for a former official in Salah al-Din Health.

The Commission stated in a statement received by the (INA) that “a decision was issued in absentia to sentence a former official in the Salah al-Din Governorate Health Department to ten years in prison for unlawfully seizing state money.”
The statement added, “Salah al-Din Criminal Court/Second Panel decided to sentence the fugitive convict (Mohamed Salah Abdel Sahab), former director of the Pharmacy Department in the Salah al-Din Health Department, to ten years in prison, for his role in the crime of embezzling (8025) boxes of French-made (Clexane) ampoules from the warehouses of the Pharmacy Department affiliated with the Health Department.”
The statement explained that “the court issued a three-year prison sentence against another employee in the health department for his involvement in the embezzlement operation,” explaining that “the court issued its rulings against the convicts in accordance with the provisions of Article (316) of the Penal Code,” noting that “the right was given to the Salah al-Din Health Department to claim compensation before the civil courts, and it also decided to hand over the seized materials to the department for the purpose of disposing of them in accordance with the law.”
On 3/22/2023, the Integrity Commission announced that it had arrested five suspects accused of embezzling (8025) boxes of the substance (Clexane), with two needles for each box, used for blood clotting, after this substance had completely disappeared from the Pharmacy Department of the Salah al-Din Health Department, and more than half of the embezzled materials and two of those involved were seized.
