On the 26th, Heo Eun-ah, the leader of the New Reform Party, presented the vision of the New Reform Party as “We will realize a change of era through a change of generations.”
Representative Huh held a press conference at the National Assembly on the morning of that day to mark his 100th day in office, and said, “There will be local elections in 2026. There will be a presidential election in 2027. The zeitgeist of our politics going forward will be generational change.”
He said, “Today’s politics can be simply called the ‘old-fashioned regime,’” and “It is the mission of the times and the wish of the people to turn the current old-fashioned regime, in which the 86 generation of activist politicians and the welfare conservatives are divided and coexisting, overturn it and transform it into a next regime that is young, dynamic, practical, and faithful to alternatives.”
He continued, “We will change the old regime into the next regime with the next generation represented by those born in the 90s and 2000s,” and said, “The Reform Party will create politics that boldly speaks out, firmly protects what must be protected, and works in the field with the people.”
He said, “We will build our own house. We will no longer expect to change other people’s houses,” and “We will build a strong house, a winning house, a house with a large yard, a new house for politics. In this way, we will generously embrace those who abandon their old houses and come to our new reform party.”
Representative Huh said, “I will continue to diligently travel around the country with a focus on the field and the people’s livelihood,” and added, “My clear goal is to solidify the foundation of a national party by creating 100 party associations within this year and to gradually build the foundation for a ruling party by operating provincial party chapters normally.”
He continued, “I have already stated my goal of achieving an approval rating of 8% within this year,” and added, “That doesn’t mean I will be obsessed with crude political events. I will not rely on luck, but will play the game of Go according to the rules and move forward honestly.”
