In the UK, 100 people were detained after clashes between far-right protesters and police in Rotherham, one of the law enforcement officers was injured.

As reported by Day.Az with reference to Gazeta.ru, The Guardian reports this.

Violent protests outside the Holiday Inn Express in Rotherham began over what organisers say are asylum seekers being housed there. In response to the far-right protest, around 100 people staged an anti-fascism rally opposite deportation supporters, but they left before the initial protest erupted into a scuffle with police.

Arrests have been made across England and Northern Ireland amid the protests, including in London, Hartlepool, Bristol, Belfast, Southport, Hull, Stoke-on-Trent and Liverpool. More are expected as police examine CCTV footage from the protests. Some of those arrested have already been charged.

Earlier, it was reported that courts in Britain would work around the clock due to mass protests.
