11.9 percent of people over 80 received a repeat shot against corona

by time news

So far, 261,535 people have received a repeat shot against the coronavirus. These are mainly people of 80 years and older. In that age group, 11.9 percent received the modified booster. This should give the defense against the corona virus a boost, because there may be a new wave of infection.

The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) will provide figures for the first time on Tuesday about the new vaccination round, which started last week. The elderly, healthcare workers and people at medical risk are given priority over the rest of the population. Anyone aged 12 and older who has had the first vaccination can get the new shot, as long as the last shot or corona infection was at least three months before.
