Uruguay lost 1-0 to Colombia in the semi-finals of Copa America-2024. At the end of that match, several Uruguayan players got into the stands and got into a fight with the Colombian spectators. Almost two months later, on Wednesday (August 28), the South American Football Confederation (CONMABLE) fined the footballers involved in the incident.

After that incident, the Conmable Disciplinary Committee investigated for two months. After the investigation, 5 footballers found guilty have been banned and 6 footballers have been fined. Among them, Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez was banned for five matches. Besides, he was fined 20 thousand dollars (24 lakh taka).

Midfielder Rodrigo Bentacur was banned for four matches and fined $16,000. Ronald Araujo, Jose Maria Gimínez and midfielder Mathias Oliveira were banned for three matches and fined $12,000.

Apart from them, 6 other footballers were fined. Among them, Santiago Mele, Matias Viña, Sebastian Caceres, Emiliano, Facundo Pellistri and Brian Rodriguez were fined $5,000.

Not only that, the Uruguay Football Association has been fined 120,000 dollars in this incident.
