The government is giving awards to 11 individuals and organizations for their special contribution to Patkha. The award will be given on National Jute Day tomorrow.
Textiles and Jute Minister and Awami League Presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak gave this information in the conference room of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute at noon on Tuesday (March 5).
Additional Secretary Taslima Kaniz Nahida, Subrata Shikdar (Additional Secretary) and senior officials of the Ministry were also present at this time.
Jahangir Kabir Nanak said that the demand for jute and jute products is increasing globally due to environment-friendly considerations. Jute products will be diversified to take advantage of this opportunity and initiatives to make jute industry profitable will continue. Private sector initiatives in jute industry will be encouraged.
The Minister said that like every other year, the Ministry of Textiles and Jute is going to celebrate ‘National Jute Day 2024’ on March 6 tomorrow.
The theme of this year’s National Jute Day is ‘Bangabandhu’s Golden Country, Bangladesh of Smart Jute Industry’. On this occasion, the main event of Jute Day will be organized at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) on March 14.
