11 more items on a freelance license to do business in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Economic Development has announced the inclusion of 11 new items in the Freelance Professional License that allows businesses to operate in Abu Dhabi from anywhere in the world. This permission is granted to sole proprietorships.

Activities related to Accounting, Auditing, Analyzing, Reviewing, Accounting and Auditing Systems, Shariah Review Consultancy for Islamic Financial Institutions, Tax Consultancy, Electronics Networks, Electronic Security, Innovation, Artificial Information Technology New additions include database design and electronic risk management services.

Undersecretary Rashid Abdulkareem Al Balushi said the aim was to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s economy by increasing technology and employment opportunities. It also noted that 1784 licenses have been issued so far since the freelance professional license was announced.

Applicants with at least 3 years of experience or academic and professional qualifications in the relevant field can apply for a freelance license through the website www.adbc.gov.ae. They and their family will also get a residence visa. Details are available on the website.

To get a freelance license you need to call 028158888 or register on the website www.adbc.gov.ae or on the AD Business Center mobile app.

Registration is required by providing the person’s name, passport number, mobile number and e-mail ID.

Once the registration is complete, you can apply for a freelance license by clicking on the Commercial License option.

Must have a University Degree Certificate or 3 years Certificate of Work Experience in a related subject.

If you are a government employee, you need to produce the Permit (NOC) from the employer

The fee for a two-year work permit is 540 dirhams.
