At least 11 people were killed and nine others injured in a traffic accident in Balkh Province Northern Afghanistan today.
Xinhua quoted state police spokesman Muhammad Asif Waziri as saying that the accident occurred when a car overturned due to reckless driving, killing 11 people, including women and children, and injuring nine others, some of whom are in critical condition.
Earlier, a traffic accident claimed the lives of five passengers in the western province of Badghis yesterday, while six others were killed in a similar traffic accident that occurred in the northern province of Baghlan last Monday.
At least 30 people have been confirmed dead and more than 200 injured in Afghanistan since last Friday.
