Apart from these, eye banks are not functioning in 11 states. Tripura, Uttarakhand and Mizoram have only one eye bank each. Maximum 74 eye banks are functioning in Maharashtra, 41 in Uttar Pradesh, 32 in Karnataka and 25 in Gujarat. After Corona, the requirements for eyes have increased. Accordingly there is no stock in the eye banks. This is stated in it. About this, famous ophthalmologist Manish Acharya said, “Most of the eye banks in the country are functioning nominally. “Only a few banks are functioning with all the facilities including adequate medical equipment. Central and state governments should pay attention to this matter,” he said.
