Be careful to eat the black-hearted abalone! Legislator Hong Shenhan was shocked that Matsu did not breed or import abalone, and could conjure as many as 11 tons of abalone out of thin air and ship it to Taiwan? ! He asked from the Fisheries Administration to the Customs Administration, and then checked the official documents of the Lianjiang County Government. There was no information legally imported from China by the industry. He highly suspected that this batch was divided into 26 times, from November last year to January this year, as many as 11 tons of abalone airlifted to Taipei “of unknown origin, skipped quarantine”, and it hurts how loose the screws of the Lianjiang County Government are!

Li Wen, director of the Lianjiang County Party Department of the Democratic Progressive Party who has worked in Matsu for a long time, pointed out that the incident was a magical illusion of a privileged smuggling group: 11 tons of abalone were conjured in Matsu!

In fact, in order to protect Taiwan’s local abalone industry, the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced in February this year that the ban on importing Chinese abalone to Taiwan will be extended again, from November to March of the following year, and will be extended backward by 2 months. The ban will not be lifted until the end of May. . Li Wen pointed out that many years ago, unscrupulous operators illegally smuggled Chinese “black-hearted abalone” that exceeded the standard of cancer-causing antibiotics into Taiwan.

Hong Shenhan said that at the end of January this year, he received a message that a batch of abalone with a total weight of more than 11 tons was airlifted from Matsu to Taiwan for sale. Immediately he thought: “Does Matsu really have an abalone farming industry?” So began to trace with Li Wen.

After asking the Fisheries Department of the Council of Agriculture, the Customs Administration of the Ministry of Finance, and finally Lianjiang County Government, Hong Shenhan said that the county government did not know anything about it, and went to the site to investigate the issue of the local “Xinfeng Enterprise Co., Ltd.” introducing 1 ton of abalone fry. Only then did I find out: “There is no fact of stocking.”

Hong Shenhan became suspicious. This “Xinfeng Enterprise Co., Ltd.” imported abalone fry but did not raise them. It still “brought out 11 tons of abalones and sold them to Taiwan.” So where did these abalones come from? He pointed out that the Lianjiang County Government did not intend to give a positive answer, and only said lightly that “the company did not provide relevant abalone farming records and results”.

A few years ago, cheap live abalone smuggled into the market from China was found to contain the banned carcinogenic antibiotic Nitrofurans.

Hong Shenhan highly suspects that “Xinfeng Enterprise Co., Ltd.” is using false stocking of abalone fry as a cover-up. The essence is to smuggle live abalone into Matsu illegally, and then transfer them to Taiwan for huge profits.
