jpnn.comPASANGKAYU – A total of 117 TNI personnel from Kodim 1427/Pasangkayu in West Sulawesi Province (Sulbar) participated in securing the registration process for prospective pairs of candidates for the Pasangkayu regent and deputy regent for the 2024-2029 period.
Head of Operations Section of Kodim 1427/Pasangkayu Lieutenant Infantry Rusli said that as many as 117 TNI personnel were on standby at several points to secure the registration process for the Pasangkayu Regency Pilkada candidates.
The Pasangkayu Military District Command also put 24 TNI personnel on alert at the Pasangkayu KPU Office to prevent and anticipate any form of unrest.
“The TNI-Polri will solidly oversee and secure the registration process for the Pasangkayu district head and deputy district head candidates so that it runs smoothly and safely,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Operations for the Pasangkayu Police, Commissioner Pandu Arief Setiawan, said that at least 95 Pasangkayu Police personnel were assigned to oversee and secure the candidate registration process for the regional elections.
He appealed to prospective candidate pairs and their supporters to maintain security and order so that the Pasangkayu regional elections to be held on November 27, 2024 can take place safely and peacefully.
The prospective candidate pair, who are the incumbent candidates Yaumil Ambo Djiwa and Herni Agus, have officially registered with the Pasangkayu Regency KPU.
The pair is supported by ten political parties, namely the Golkar Party, PDIP, Gerindra, Nasdem, PKB, PAN, Demokrat, Hanura, PPP, and PSI. (between/jpnn)
