12 decisions of the Ministry of Agriculture on what to do after the flood

The Ministry of Agriculture has taken 12 decisions regarding the damage assessment of the recent floods and what to do after the floods.

Thursday (August 22) Secretary of Agriculture Dr. This decision was taken in an online meeting chaired by Emdad Ullah Mian. The Ministry of Agriculture has started working to implement these decisions in coordination with the departments and organizations under its jurisdiction.

This information was informed in a press release of the Ministry of Agriculture at night.

12 decision

1. Additional Director, Deputy Director, Upazila Agriculture Officer and Agricultural Extension Officer should be formed to determine and implement possible actions to deal with disaster.

2. Ongoing agricultural incentives and rehabilitation programs should be strengthened.

3. Adequate resources and supply of Aman paddy seeds of suitable varieties should be arranged to cope with flood damage.

4. Emergency seed beds should be started at relatively high places.

5. Farmers should be advised to cultivate Nabi variety seedlings of Aman paddy.

6. Initiatives should be taken to supply Nabi variety rice seeds from flood-free areas of the country to flood-affected areas.

7. Fertilizers stored in flood prone warehouses should be stored in a safe place.

8. Activities should be undertaken regarding the production of early season winter vegetables.

9. A proposal should be sent to the ministry to determine the extent of the damage for the purpose of assisting the flood victims.

10. The leave of all the officials and employees of the agricultural offices in the flood affected areas was cancelled.

11. In order to provide continuous information on flood affected areas, updated information should be provided by establishing control rooms in upazilas, districts, directorates and ministries.

12. Goods of government offices in flood affected areas should be shifted to safe places.
