The Madurai Vaigai River is flooded again due to 12 thousand cubic feet of water. The sinking of the causeways has caused traffic congestion in the city.

The water level of Vaigai Dam was 70.11 feet yesterday. The capacity of the dam is 71 feet. The dam is receiving 7,304 cubic feet of water.

This water is intact The river is left open.

The Madurai Vaigai River currently carries 12,000 cubic feet of water, including rainwater from rivers and tributaries.

So 15 years later the Vaigai River is flooding on both sides. The Vaigai six causeways in Madurai were flooded.

Due to the construction of high level bridges on two floors, only the AV flyover and the Cellur flyover will be used to cross the river.

This has caused heavy traffic congestion on both bridges since yesterday morning.

According to a report issued by District Collector Anish Sehgar, 12 thousand cubic feet of water is flowing into the Vaigai river. In the lower areas Residents have been warned to move to safer places, not to tie up livestock along the river and not to let anyone down into the river.
