I’m 12.074 i new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday they were +8,864, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 3.891.063 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 390 (yesterday they were +316), for a total of 117,633 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 3.290.715 e 22.453 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (+19,669 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 482.715, equal to -10.774 compared to yesterday (-11,122 the day before), in continuous decrease from 6 April. There decline in current positives today – with the minus sign in front – depends on the fact that the healed, added to the deaths, are in greater number than in the new cases.
The swabs and the scenario
I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 294.045, or 147,317 more than yesterday when it was 146,728. While the rate of positivity 4,1% (the approximation of 4.106%): it means that out of 100 swabs performed, 4 were positive; yesterday it was 6%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.
More infections in 24 hours than yesterday, in the face of multiple pads. And the case-to-test ratio drops by almost two points, reaching 4.1% from 6% on Monday From the comparison with last Tuesday (April 13), when +13,447 cases were registered with a positive rate of 4.4%, we can see an improvement in the scenario. Good news is the increase in the healed, growing for the second day in a row – today over 22 thousand in 24 hours and yesterday almost 20 – even if the record of 39.266 negativized dated 9 December. The descent of the slow curve. It takes time and patience to get to zero positives. We do not know when the emergency will end, premier Mario Draghi recalled, in an introductory video message to the listening webinar with representatives of civil society in view of the Global Health Summit on May 21 in Rome, but with vaccines we have the possibility to end the pandemic.
The curve of the new positives on the Civil Protection website
The Campania the most affected for the number of new infections, for the second consecutive day: +1,750 cases with 24,741 swabs and consequently has a positive rate of 7%. Follows the Lombardy which marks +1,670 cases, thanks to almost 47,000 swabs, which is the highest number of regional tests of the day, with a rate of 3.6% (here the Lombardy bulletin). Above one thousand there are then Puglia (+1.180) e Sicily (+1.148). All other regions report a two- or three-digit increase, except for Molise which marks +3 infected.
The death toll is dramatic and still high: 390 in the bulletin. In the data, as often happens, deaths occurred in recent days and entered late in the system are counted. No region has zero bereavement, while the highest number of deaths in Lombardy (+67), Campania (+52, of which 32 died in the last 48 hours and 20 died in recent days), Sicily (+36), Lazio (+34) and Piedmont (+ 31, here the bulletin). I beds occupied in intensive care (ICU) I’m -93 (yesterday -67), bringing the total of more seriously ill a 3.151. The variation in the number of beds occupied, in critical and non-critical areas, indicates the balance between patients who left and those who entered in the last 24 hours.
