The IPL has been shortlisted for the star auction. A total of 1214 players took part. Former Indian cricketer and Malayalee pacer S Sreesanth is on the list. 50 lakhs – The base price of a thirty-eight year old. 896 Indian players and 318 foreigners are up for auction.

The auction will be held on February 12 and 13 in Bangalore. The new season of IPL will start on March 27. The matches will be played in India itself.

Forty-nine players are on the list with the highest base price of Rs 2 crore. The other base prices are Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 1 crore. A total of 10 teams, including the newcomers Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Eight teams retained four players. Lucknow is owned by Lokesh Rahul, Marx Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi. Rahul is worth Rs 17 crore. Along with Virat Kohli, Rahul has become the highest paid player in the IPL.

Ahmedabad acquired Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubhman Gill. Chris Gayle, Ben Stokes, Joffre Archer, Mitchell Starc and Joe Root are all out of the league.
