1,217 Jeep vehicles to be recalled in Russia due to defect in ABS control unit

by time news

In Russia, 1,217 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles sold since 2018 will be recalled due to possible problems with the hydraulic control unit of the anti-lock braking system (ABS) module. This was reported in the press service of Rosstandart.

“Due to incorrect detection of pressure in the primary circuit by the hydraulic control unit of the ABS module, brake lights may be switched on without authorization. In addition, the system can allow the engine to be started and the gear selector lever to be moved out of the parking position without pressing the brake pedal.

To check the car and fix a possible problem, car owners need to contact the nearest official dealership. The inspection and necessary replacement work will be free of charge.

After checking, if necessary, the ABS control unit will be reprogrammed “with the latest software version”.
