The highlight of the festival was ‘M Countdown’ where popular K-pop singers such as god, NCT 127, Taemin, Nmix, Enhypen, Boynextdoor, STAYC, BIBI, Zerobaseone, and Kepler performed for three days. This year in particular, the CW Network, one of the top five broadcasting networks in the US with an estimated 120 million households watching, is garnering attention for being the first K-pop festival to live broadcast the M Countdown performances on the 28th in prime time across the US. CJ ENM announced that in addition to the online and offline audiences in the US, over 5.8 million people in about 176 countries and regions enjoyed this year’s KCON through digital platforms.

In addition to music performances, the ‘KCON Stage’, which featured fan meetings by Kim Soo-hyun, the lead actor of the popular K-drama ‘Queen of Tears’ in the first half of this year, and Park Min-young of ‘Marry My Husband’, also gained great popularity. CJ ENM reported that hundreds of local fans flocked to meet them.

In addition to the cultural sector, it was also used as a venue for Korean companies to develop sales channels. At the ‘K Collection with KCON,’ 119 Korean companies set up a total of 428 booths to promote their products and services to local K-pop fans. Shin Hyung-kwan, head of CJ ENM’s music content business division, said, “I once again felt the passion for K-pop and Korean culture.”
