12th Man Movie Review & Rating

Twelfth Man is a movie that can be described as one hundred percent ‘mystery thriller’. Jeethu Joseph has adopted a storytelling style and approach that is not very familiar to Malayalam cinema. Ninety percent of the screen is filled with a secluded resort in the middle of the woods and only 12 characters. The narration of the film is not boring at all, though there are many repetitive locations and scenes in the film. The highlight of the film is the suspense, which can be maintained from the beginning to the end. Jeethu Joseph and screenwriter Krishnakumar have written the script for ‘Twelve’ with emphasis on all 12 characters. Is it possible to investigate a crime scene so quickly? Can’t pretend not to see some logic issues like. However, ‘Twelfthman’ deserves praise for being a thriller film that has been cleaned up from its limitations.

Satish Kurup’s cinematography also plays a big role in giving a mysterious atmosphere to the film as a whole. Anil Johnson’s music also does justice to the film. The movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas. Twelfth Man streaming takes place on the OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar.
