The head of Tourism (Sectur) said that according to information from the Migration Policy Unit-Registration and Identity of Persons of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), the main countries in arrivals of international tourists by air to Mexico according to their nationality in the first seven months of the year were: United States United, Canada and Colombia cWith 10 million 977 thousand tourists, this is 5.6% more than the same period in 2023; also exceeding by 29.2% the tourists of the same period in 2019.
He specified that the arrival of American travelers from January to July 2024 by air was 8 million 922 thousand tourists, 5.8% more than in 2023.also exceeding by 34.2% the arrivals during January-July 2019.
He added that the arrival of Canadian tourists in the first seven months of the year was one million 695 thousand tourists, this represents a 9.7% more than the same period in 2023, also exceeding by 11.4% the tourists attracted in January-July 2019.
He also stated that, from January to July 2024, the arrival of Colombian tourists by air was 360 thousand 249 tourists, exceeding by 10.1% the arrivals of the same period in 2019.
He indicated that the rest of the nationalities accounted for 2 million 855 thousand tourists, with a market share of 20.6%.
Torruco reported that, during the first seven months of the year, the airports with the highest arrival of international tourists by air were Cancun, AICM and Los Cabos, with 10 million 180 thousand tourists, that is, 0.3% more than the same period in 2023, also exceeding by 12.4% the arrivals of the same period in 2019.
