Kasaragod | It has been 13 years since the mysterious death of CM Abdullah Maulavi, who was the Vice President of the Samasta EK section and Qasi of Mangalore Keezhur Joint Jamaat. On the morning of February 15, 2010, Abdullah Maulavi was found dead near the Chembarika Kadukka stone. The local police, the crime branch and later the CBI conducted an investigation after suspicions that Khasi’s death was a murder, but no evidence was found.

Meanwhile, the CBI conducted an investigation focusing on some people suspected of having links with Qazi’s death, but to no avail. Khasi’s relatives, various organizations and locals organized protest programs including hunger strike under the leadership of the Action Committee demanding an investigation into the death.

Later, in the investigation report given by the CBI in the High Court, there was a mention that Khasi’s death was a suicide. With this, the investigation was going nowhere. His relatives and the Joint Strike Committee had come forward against this and demanded that a new team of CBI be investigated.

Although the strike continued, it was suspended due to the situation of Kovid. At the same time, the joint strike committee has decided to go on strike again demanding a comprehensive investigation into the case.
