Ukraine says 13,000 soldiers killed in war with Russia

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the President of Ukraine, said:

We have an official report from the Office of the Chief of Army Staff on the number of Ukrainian soldiers killed in the war against Russia.

Apart from this, we also have the official statistics of Defense Department HQ on soldier casualties.

According to them, the number of soldiers killed in the war with Russia ranges from 10 thousand to 13 thousand.

He said that President Volodymyr Zelensky will officially announce the exact details of the soldiers’ deaths when the time comes.

Earlier, US Army Chief of Staff Mac Milley said last month that more than 100,000 Russian soldiers may have died in the war in Ukraine, and the same number of soldiers may have died on the Ukrainian side.

In this situation, Mikhailo Podoliak said that their soldiers have been killed in a much smaller number than that.

Russia says that its close neighbor, Ukraine, is a threat to its national security if it joins NATO, which was created against it.

However, when Ukraine expressed its desire to join NATO, Russia invaded that country on February 24.

As part of that war, Russia and the Russian-backed Klachik force seized large swathes of eastern and southern Ukraine.

However, with the help of sophisticated weaponry provided by Western countries, Ukraine recently regained some areas from Russia.

Following this setback, Russia has been aggressively attacking Ukraine’s military bases and infrastructure, including its power plant.

In this situation, Ukraine has now reported that 13,000 of its soldiers have died in the war.
