14 dead, 28 hurt after blast in Turkish coal mine

An explosion at a coal mine in northern Turkey has killed 14 workers. 28 people are injured. Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu confirmed this. The accident occurred at a state-owned mine in Amazra, Bartin province.

It is reported that 87 workers were in the mine at the time of the accident. It is reported that 45 workers are trapped in the mine. Earlier in 2014, 301 people were killed in a coal mine fire in the western Turkish city of Soma.
